Morungaba’s partnership with the Municipal Department of Sports, Leisure, and Recreation began of the second semester of 2006, when body movement workshops were given to children and youth at ten public clubs in the city of São Paulo.
The following year, Morungaba made an agreement with the Department and participated in implementing the School Club program, taking the activities to 38 sports clubs in the city.
Four modalities were offered: yoga, capoeira, dance/movement, and ballroom dancing.
Also in 2007, we expanded the actions to the Community Clubs Unileste and Clipper; in February of 2008, in Liderança, and in November 2008, at the Vila Darly Club, offering children and school aged youth the opportunity to participate in sports (judo, soccer, volleyball), recreational, and leisure activities.
In December 2008, Morungaba began a partnership with PET – Worker’s Sports Park, with activities such as Tai Chi Chuan, Yoga, Dance/Movement, and Ballroom dancing.
Playtime is part of the child’s universe, and while playing, the child develops socially, culturally, and cognitively. With this objective, from May 2010 to May 2011, Morungaba assumed responsibility for the playrooms in 14 School Clubs.
This partnership with the Department lasted until the year 2011.
